BioCAT is an NIH-supported Mature Synchrotron Resource. Anyone can use the facility for free by putting in an application through the APS GUP program. These applications are reviewed on the basis of feasibility and scientific merit.

As an experimenter at BioCAT, please read about the research techniques BioCAT supports to ensure that our capabilities are well matched to your requirements.

Once you’ve determined that BioCAT has the resources to further your research, you will need to become familiar with the process for obtaining time at our beamline.

Prior to scheduling awarded time, it will be necessary to ensure that your experiment satisfies all applicable safety and compliance requirements.

Please read through the material in each of these three categories as the information contained within is there to help you make it smoothly through the experiment process: from concept all the way through to data collection and analysis.

After your successful experiments at BioCAT, it is important to acknowledge the facility when you publish your results. Peer-reviewed publications are the primary measure of scientific output. Properly documented publications insure that funds are available to continue operating the BioCAT facility.
